Sharing the Gospel in Natural Ways
Abraham
2:11 One of the responsibilities that we have in the Abrahamic covenant and
as members of Christ’s Church is to share the gospel.
Share experiences?
Have any of you ever had a great experience? Have you had a new incredible
dessert? How would you describe it? What was your favorite vacation? Where did
you go? What did you see? How did you feel? Have you ever met someone who
thinks a lot the same way you do? How would you describe your friendship? Can
you finish each other’s sentences?
What things in life make you tick? What do you find
interesting? When you find new things that interest you, who do you want to
tell?
How are you experiencing the gospel? How are you interacting
with the Lord and with your own developing testimony? Is it something that you
value? Can you describe an experience that you have had with the Spirit?
Is it important to you to share spiritual feelings and gifts
with others? Can someone else benefit from your perspective, understanding, and
testimony?
What things excite you about the gospel? What are some
things that the gospel offers you that you think are important for someone else
to feel and know?
Isaiah
1:18 18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith
the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be
as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as
wool.
God loves us and doesn’t want to punish us, but help us to
find happiness.
Does having faith in the Jesus Christ help you to be a happier person. How
could this scripture help someone who deals with a lot of anxiety?
Isaiah
25:4, 8–9 4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a
strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm,
a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as
a storm against the wall.
8 He will swallow
up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away
tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take
away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.
9 ¶ And it shall be said in that day, Lo,
this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save
us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him,
we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
Have you felt God’s love for you? Could you share with
someone else who is struggling a conviction that we have a loving Heavenly
Father that we can approach in prayer, and He will give us confidence, peace,
and faith in the future?
Isaiah
40:28–31 28 ¶ Hast thou not known? hast thou not
heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord,
the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is
weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them
that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and
the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait
upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be
weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Do these scriptures give you hope. God is not dead, nor doth
He sleep. He can help us to keep going by lifting our spirits and guiding us
continually. Do your friends need to feel that?
Isaiah
43:25 25 I, even I, am he
that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine
own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
The Lord isn’t holding things over us when we follow Him and
seek to do His will. He is quick to forgive and always merciful and kind.
Isaiah
54:10 10 For the mountains shall depart, and the
hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall
the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that
hath mercy on thee.
No matter what happens, the Lord will always love us. He is
constant and true to us. How does that help you find hope?
Do you have a favorite scripture? Why do you like it? What
does it speak to you?
Do you ever worry about how to share a gospel message? The
prophets have had that problem too.
Jeremiah
1:6 6 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I
cannot speak: for I am a child.
What did the Lord have to say to Jeremiah?
Jeremiah
1:7–9 7 ¶ But the Lord said unto me, Say not,
I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I
shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou
shalt speak.
8 Be not afraid of their faces: for
I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.
9 Then the Lord put forth his hand,
and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have
put my words in thy mouth.
President Uchtdorf:
Wherever you are on this earth, there are plenty of
opportunities to share the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ with people
you meet, study with, and live with or work and socialize with. …
What I am asking is that you always look for opportunities
to bring up your faith in natural and normal ways with people—both in person as
well as online. …
In whatever ways seem natural and normal to you, share with
people why Jesus Christ and His Church are important to you.
What’s the difference between normal and natural and clumsy
and awkward?
Who do you know that talks about the gospel in a natural
way? How do they do it?
